Apple exports in July 2026
In July 2026, European Union countries exported a total of 40,962 tonnes of apples. Although Asian countries, including India and Vietnam, account for a relatively small share of Europe’s fruit exports, producers from Italy, Poland and Spain are actively establishing their presence in these markets.
According to the latest data from the European Commission, out of the total volume of EU apple exports in July 2026, 2,000 tonnes were shipped to India and Vietnam. This means that the two Asian destinations accounted for less than 5 percent of EU apple exports in the month under review.
For comparison, during the same period of the 2024/2025 season, European apple deliveries to India and Vietnam amounted to just 42 tonnes. This represents a significant difference in the scale of sales to these two markets.
India is currently one of the key and, at the same time, most promising export destinations for European apples in Asia. The scale of shipments to India is significantly higher than in the case of Vietnam.
The activity of individual EU member states is also visible in specific Asian markets. In the case of India, Germany was the largest EU exporter of apples. In July, Germany shipped 942 tonnes of apples to India, accounting for almost half of the EU’s total apple exports to the country.
The data show that although India and Vietnam still account for a relatively small share of total EU apple exports, they are important and growing destinations for European fruit. India’s position is particularly notable, as the scale of shipments during the period under review was significantly higher than exports to Vietnam.
