Year One Summary of the “Time for Apples from Europe in Asia” Campaign in India and Vietnam

The first year of the “Time for Apples from Europe in Asia” campaign has come to a close, and its results clearly demonstrate that the promotion of European—particularly Polish—apples in the Indian and Vietnamese markets is yielding tangible outcomes. Implemented by the Association of Polish Fruit Growers (ZSRP), the project aims to boost apple exports to these fast-growing markets and build strong recognition of European apples as a premium-quality product.

Throughout the first year, a wide range of promotional activities was carried out to raise awareness of European apples among importers, distributors, and consumers. A key highlight was the campaign’s presence at prestigious trade fairs in India, where representatives had the opportunity to showcase the quality and unique flavor profile of European apples. In addition, large billboards in major Indian cities promoted the apples, emphasizing their European origin and high quality. The campaign also received strong support through social media, reaching a broad audience with targeted messaging.

In India, varieties such as ‘Gala’, ‘Granny Smith’, ‘Golden Delicious’, and ‘Red Delicious’ proved particularly popular. As Indian consumers increasingly seek out healthy, natural snacks, European apples are perfectly aligned with current dietary trends. A similar pattern is emerging in Vietnam, where demand for high-quality imported fruits—especially from Europe—is steadily growing.

The completion of the first campaign year marks only the beginning. The next two years will involve continued efforts, including participation in further industry events, expanded advertising campaigns, and educational initiatives for importers and consumers. The goal is not only to increase export volumes, but to secure a lasting market position for European apples in Asia.

The first year of the “Time for Apples from Europe in Asia” campaign has shown a steady rise in interest in European apples across India and Vietnam. With continued promotional efforts, European fruit growers have a real opportunity to strengthen their export success, while consumers in Asia gain access to the distinct taste and exceptional quality of European apples.
