The press conference of the information and promotion campaign “Time for apples from Europe” in Jordan has been completed. The event took place on May 30, 2023 at the Kempinski Hotel in Amman, as part of a 4-day trade mission to strengthen EU-Jordan business ties.

During the press conference we had the pleasure of hosting representatives of the local industry institution and the ministry. Speeches on Jordan’s trade cooperation with the EU and the numerous advantages of apples produced in the EU were delivered by Mohammed Al-Qaryouti, Vice-President of the Jordanian European Business Association (JEBA), and Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Hazem Smadi.

The European expert in the fruit growing industry was President of the Association of Polish Fruit Growers - Mirosław Maliszewski. President of ZSRP acquainted the participants with a presentation devoted to the high quality of European apples and their position on the Jordanian market. The event was additionally graced by the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Jordan, Lucjan Karpiński, as well as Third Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, Kornel Konarewicz.

Local food influencers Faris Al Samhouri, Feed Mureed, Saad Shammoot and Yasmin Bani Hani also attended the event. The publications prepared by them, devoted to both the conference and European apples themselves, which appeared in social media, certainly helped convince local recipients that fruit produced in the EU is a noteworthy product of high quality and many taste and aesthetic qualities.

An important point of the conference was a culinary show led by a local chef, Mohammad Al Zubaidi, representing the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts (RACA) in Jordan. Thanks to delicious desserts prepared with European apples in the lead role, conference participants had the opportunity to taste the unique fruit from the EU.

The conference was a complete success. The coverage of the event appeared on local television, and interviews with President of the Association of Polish Fruit Growers, Mirosław Maliszewski, conducted by the media allowed to further expand awareness of the export and quality of European apples.
