Apples are tasty and nutritious not only in their natural form. Apples can be successfully processed in various ways, while maintaining their unique taste. From crispy dried slices to aromatic apple oil and jam. There are many ways to use apples in the kitchen - below we present the tastiest ones!

Dried apples

Cut the apples into thin slices. Remove the cores. Place the slices on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Dry in the oven or dryer at a temperature of about 60-70°C for about 4-6 hours until the apples are dry and crispy. Store in tightly closed jars or containers. Dried apples constitute an excellent snack that can be eaten on its own or added to breakfast cereals, cakes, muffins, salads or desserts.

Apple oil

Cut the apples into smaller pieces and remove the cores. Place the apples in a jar and pour olive oil over it to cover the fruit. Close the jar and leave it in a dry, dark place for about 2-4 weeks to allow the apples to flavour the oil. After this time, strain the oil to remove the apple pieces. Store in an airtight jar in a cool place. Apple oil is ideal for frying, preparing sauces or as an ingredient for dressings.

Apple preserves

Apple preserves can be used as an addition to bread, crepes, cakes or yogurt, as well as a spread for sandwiches.

  • Applesauce – peel the apples, remove the cores and cut the apples into smaller pieces. Cook in a pot with a small amount of water until the apples are soft. Then mash them through a sieve to remove the skins and seeds. Add sugar or sweetener as desired and cook until the sauce thickens. Pour into jars, turn upside down and leave to cool.
  • Apple starch jelly – peel the apples, remove the cores and cut the apples into pieces. Cook with a little water until the apples fall apart. Then blend them or mash them through a sieve. In another pot, boil water, add sugar and starch until the mixture thickens. Add the blended apples to it, mix and cook for a few more minutes. Pour into bowls and chill in the fridge.
  • Apple jam – peel the apples, remove the cores and cut the apples into pieces. Cook them with sugar and lemon juice in a pot until the ingredients are combined and the jam thickens. Pour into jars, put the lids on and turn them upside down to create a tight seal. Set aside to cool.
