Ingredients:

40 dag beef
a little butter
a little olive oil
laurel leaf
allspice
1 onion
1 apple
3/4-1 cup broth
salt
herbal pepper
parley leaves

Wash the beef, clean off the gristle and cut into small pieces. In a pan heat up butter with olive oil, put the cut meat into the very hot fat and fry until the beef changes colour. Take the meat into a small pot. Peel the onion and cut into small pieces. Next brown it in the butter with olive oil and also put into the pot. Pour on the hot broth, add a laurel leaf and a few grains of allspice and simmer it all under lid, until the meat is somewhat soft. Season with salt, pepper and parsley. Peel the apple, grate it with a coarse grater and put in the pot. Simmer until all the ingredients are totally soft. Serve with buckwheat groats or pearl barley.
